A visit to Takamaka Boutique Winery is so much more than a wine tasting it’s a chance to understand the painstaking work that goes into handling such a delicate fruit, to discover the story behind the winemaker’s craft, and to step into the passionate world of Alexander Oxenham as you explore his different vintages.

It was right here on his home island that Alexander built this one-of-a-kind winery the only one of its kind in the Indian Ocean and fulfilled a dream he’d held for years: to produce a high-quality, 100% Mauritian wine from a locally grown fruit. And he pulled it off. Today, five distinct vintages offer a wide range of aromas, colours, and flavours, three of which you’ll get to discover during the guided tasting that follows the tour.
